LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Nov. 30, 2015 – Disney Cast Members are often seen sharing their compassionate hearts with our Central Florida neighbors throughout the year. And on Thanksgiving, VoluntEARS shared the joy of the season by serving dinner at the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida.

Helping to make the holiday season brighter for homeless men, women and children in need was Disney Chef Ron Strickland, who helped to organize, prepare and serve meals including roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans almandine, carrots and pumpkin cheesecake.

“There is no better time to help feed people in need and be thankful for it than on Thanksgiving,” Strickland said.

A team of Cast Members from Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort assisted Strickland in serving more than 600 meals.

“It’s very rewarding being able to interact with the individuals we help because they are so grateful for us taking time to spend a holiday with them,” said Rodolfo (Rudy) Fernandez, a Disney Guest Service manager.
