LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla., Nov. 30, 2015 – They came, they brought, they properly disposed of broken electronics, latex paint and used motor oil. In total more than 1,000 Cast Members brought items from their homes to a November Walt Disney World recycling event. The event ensured these items did not end up in the landfill.

“For the past decade the Walt Disney World Resort has held waste collection events where our Cast Members have helped properly recycle tens of thousand of items,” said Jose Garrido, manager of Environmental Control. “From helping keep items out of landfills to lending volunteer support for efforts to clean up and protect our coastal and natural areas, Disney Cast Members continually show their passion and commitment to our environment.”

At the company’s 2015 recycling events, Walt Disney World Cast Members helped collect and divert nearly 30,000 pounds of waste items from their homes.
